the wedding was held in the city of Des Moines.
Traci and I loved this pretty city. The wedding venue was right down the
street from the beautiful state capital building.
It was stunning at night with all of the lighting
during the day, the gold-leaf dome could be seen from all over the city because it
sits on a rise above the city
our hotel was right next to the Des Moines River
in the center of downtown
the whole downtown was trendy and up-scale
We found the Pappajohn Sculpture Park.
it was such a pretty day and so fun to see such interesting art
We found a pretty park, Grey's Lake Park and Beach.
Lauren had to take a little wade into the water.
seemed strange to see people laying out on the beach at a lake.
We went to West Des Moines
and found this cute little area
the real reason we went to West Des Moines was to go here...
Lauren really wanted to see the place where Shawn Johnson and Gabby Douglas
trained for the Olympics.
