We're going to Utah to attend Women's Conference

Traci and I will be heading for the beehive state for a few days.

Parade Views 2012...

One of the very best things about going to Merrie Monarch is the Parade on Saturday.
It was pretty much perfect...perfect spot, perfect weather and perfect photo ops.

The pa'u riders that represent every island are so beautiful and
is something that really represents Hawaii

There was a destroyer that came into port, so of course the sailors got to march in
the parade!  I love how everyone clapped for them!

The police force was out marching

The band from Kamehameha-Hilo marching in their Sig Zane shirts

Alright...UH Hilo ha a brand new Pharmacy School!
All of the pharmacy students marched!

Of course there were the Girl Scout troop, the Wal Mart float,
and the pooper scoopers coming up behind the horses.
The Parade a "must see" during Merrie Monarch week.

Kupuna...

These sweet kupuna still dance hula for
the love of it.

Aunty Momi (in the blue) is the oldest member of this halau and also the mother
of my good friend Leona.

these kane are also part of the same halau and they were great!
I snapped this uncle while he danced at a free
concert at my hotel.

Aren't they great?  I will never complain about my hula knees again!

Oneula Beach Park...

We happened upon Oneula Beach Park the other day.  It's on the Ewa side.
It was strange to have such a great view of Diamond Head from the beach.
We were surprised at how close this actually is to town or Ala Moana Harbor (as the bird flies).
The container ships that are going outer island go right by here,
it was fun to sit and watch them being pulled by the tugs.

Oneula, another hidden treasure.

Taste of Waialua...

Saturday was an event here close to home, "Taste of Waialua".
It was a little warm, so we didn't go over until late, but still fun.
There had been even more people there early.

Visited with sweet artist, Jamie Swim. Have our eye on a new piece or two.

There was even a queen

Hubby bought a hybrid ginger that he was fascinated with.
Nice to have something like this out here with a spotlight on
our local artist and products.

Easter Sunday...

As Lumpy said when he saw us, "so you decided to take that Hawaiian Air flight
down the H1".  Yup, we last minute decided to go into Waikiki for brunch.  Of course there is
only one place for us to lunch...Dukes.

Still the best deal going for a great buffet, even wit the price of gas getting in there.

Got to visit with Gloria before her trip to Tahiti,

got to see half of bride and groom,

well hello beautiful lady.

ran into a couple of other folks, and didn't see a few but as always,
ka nani o ka waikiki.
