Lauhala hat...

My hula sister, Iris, is a lauhala weaver.  She's taken all kinds of
classes and is going to have some of her hats for sale at the upcoming
"Made In Hawaii Festival".  I'd watched her before, but never
really "watched" her.  The other night after John's memorial, we
went back to Gary & Benita's house for dinner and to watch
the Olympics.  Iris was working on a hat for the upcoming festival.
I was fascinated by watching her and she was explaining part
of the process to me.
I wish I'd had my good camera with me to get some better shots.

Yes, these hats are a real labor of love and worth their price.
