Haleiwa Cafe

The night before we left to come to the mainland, our good friends Tim and Donna, drove out from Waikiki for a visit.  I'd been hearing that Cafe Haleiwa was now staying open for dinner three nights a week, so thought this would be a great time to try it.  What a surprise!!!!  Wish that I'd taken pictures!  The food was excellent.  A menu that had something for everyone.  Our waitress said that the menu changes every week or so.  Hubby had the pork chop over warm fingerling potato salad.  Tim had the steak.  Donna and I had an excellent soup and shared a SUN DRIED TOMATO CHEESECAKE!
sounds weird, but it was to die for.  The consistancy of cheese cake but savory.  Served with toasted baquette and fruit.
We ordered two different desserts, the lemon chiffon pie and ginger with toasted coconut cake.  The pie was something that we all were raving over.  Tart but different more like a key lime pie.

So if you're in Haleiwa for dinner, try this new place.  They still have their regular breakfast and lunch, but dinner on Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights is a real treat!
