Stars...

I ordered some of these pretty little 

hand crafted stars for Christmas this year.

I've seen them over at Piggy and Dirt on Etsy for a long time.

 I decided I really needed them and so happy I got them.

I figured that they were going to be great when I got this package in the mail...

and they were!

This is a special Hawaiian muumuu one I got for our tree at home.

Its so pretty!

I recycled some of their cool wrapping paper.

The Good Things...

There are so many events going on around the North Shore during

the Triple Crown.  There have been quite a few that are benefits like "Surf Night"

at Sunset Elementary.  I read about one and hubby and I thought we'd go

by and see if we could find a friend of ours.  This event was at the "Clark Little Gallery"

in Haleiwa.  

This was a showing at the gallery of not only Clark's photos, but also

mounted photos taken with a GoPro Hero by this guy...

Couldn't even get close to see the photos (I stood on some stairs to get this).

This exhibit and sale is to benefit a super organization, Waves for Water, http://www.wavesforwater.org

We didn't get to see our friend, but did talk to Kalani who remembered me from San

Clemente (friends with her parents) and when we all danced hula at the same

halau.  So it was nice to get caught up with her.  It was crazy (really crazy) there

and we didn't stay long.

It's nice to see that surfing/surfers are getting the mahalo they deserve for caring

about not only the environment but others.

Pearl Harbor...

sometimes I forget that we live so close to such a famous place.

When I drive down Kam Hiway in Pearl City and look over I realize 

"there it is, so much history!  We live right here and take it for granted"

Pearl Harbor is huge!

there are a lot of big ships everywhere.  One the Ewa side 

there are ships that stored there, mothballed it's called.

One day I took these pictures at Blaisdell Park.  The park

is one the edge of Pearl Harbor.

This is Ford Island, where a lot of Navy personnel live.

Today is Pearl Harbor Day.

I'm glad that we live so close to so much history,

Market Day...

Yesterday was Market Day at Waialua Elementary School.

This is done a couple of times a year and is a chance for school 

groups to earn some $$$ or the kids get to spend their "Bulldog Bucks"

that they've earned for good behavior.

Family is invited to come and enjoy.

We were a little worried that it would have gotten rained out, but the rain

had stopped and everything was dry by 8:30.

Second grade decided to sell shave ice as a fund raiser.

It was a huge success !

it really helped that they rented a great machine

and a couple of them have actually worked at Matsumotos making shave ice!

Great job Second Grade!

We love Market Day!

2 in 2...

miles that is.

I was coming home yesterday from Costco on "Snake Road"

and came upon two accidents.

The first one the car wasn't even on the road, it had crossed over and 

gone up the embankment and into the California grass...the lady was sitting

right behind that big pole.

the second one was father down the hill and had just

happened.

The road was a little damp because of the light rain and fog

conditions, but really...two, 2 !!!!!

in the morning I'd gotten a message that said that

there had been a fatal accident up by 

Scholfield.

I drive this road a lot and what I see is crazy.  People just 

speed out of control.  The weekends are the worse with

the addition of motorcycles.  

Most of the people that drive this road are locals too...

people just need to slow down.

How are those vog conditions in these photos?  YUCK!
