I took a little break from blogging because I came to california the day after na hula.  so now its time to get caught up!

Weekend Fun...

Well, it's finally here.  After all the hours of practice, and all the pain it's

time to give our hula to our family and friends.

Summer Rainbow

Yesterday morning, I pulled out of the driveway and was greeted with the prettiest

summer rainbow.

During the summer months, rainbows appear more to the west of us.  Something to do

with the different location of the sun.

What a nice way to start the morning!

Cricket

Last week on my way to hula, I drove through Kapiolani Park.  I came across this group of

men all dressed in white (long pants).  Not an aloha shirt in the bunch.  I realized

that they were playing cricket.  That British game that is sort of like baseball (not really).

It was just funny to see that even so many miles away from England, that

these local guys were sticking to the "cricket traditions".

Dog Beach

The other day at Kaiaka there were several groups of dogs that were enjoying the

water along with everyone else.  These dogs just seemed so happy to

be on the beach and swimming.

Here I've never seen anyone say anything about the dogs in the water. 

I've watched the owners and they are very good about picking up any poo

on the beach and just good about letting their dogs enjoy each other.

We have dog parks here, but not any specific "dog beaches" and it seems to work out just fine.

Back To School

Today is the first day of school for all the public schools here in Hawaii.

Tomorrow is going to be my first day back.  I'm actually excited.

Heidi says that this is her "last year"...we'll see.
