Hawaiian Christmas Tree...

here on the North Shore there's a real Christmas tree farm close by….
Helemano Farms in Whitmore.
I know in past years, they've sold two kinds of trees but this year they're
only selling the pretty Norfolk Pine.
I just love this beautiful tree.  You see them a lot along Kam Hiway
that have grown huge.  This is the type of tree that's used in the
"Honolulu City Lights" tree.

There are tree lots here, but once the trees are gone, that's it.
You never see lonely trees on Christmas Eve turning brown
in big piles.  What comes in the containers, that's it.
So the idea of a pine tree that's used to the heat/humidity sounds great.

We've never had one, because we spend Christmas on the mainland, but we have friends that
have had them.

This is the Hinton's tree.
It's so pretty.  One thing I love about these trees is that
you can see all of the ornaments.
Autumn used a ton of lights to decorate their tree, I think it looks magical.
If we're out at night, we make a point of driving by to look at it.

(Autumn Hinton photos…Thanks Autumn)

So when we go to the tree farm here, it may be in
slippers and shorts, not mittens and hats.
So while decorating it we may be sipping a fruit punch under
a ceiling fan not hot coco before a roaring fire…
our Hawaiian Christmas trees are just as beautiful and magical
