Play Ball...

Grey was team captain this week

(all the boys recite the "Little League Pledge" )

1st base...where he made the final 3 outs of the game and he 

says he likes playing there the best.

we had the perfect spot to sit...on the grass under 

the shade of trees.  It was 91 and I felt sorry for those little guys out there...

Trustworthy...

yesterday Grey received an award at school for

"Trustworthiness"

The principal talked about the traits of being trustworthy...

always being a good friend,

always doing your best,

and always telling the truth.

These are all Grey.

Christmas Morning and Geodes...

we went over to Traci's, not too early, on Christmas morning.

Chloe wasn't quite sure exactly what was going on.

Jack asked what Chloe got for Christmas and Traci answered, "a home".

which was very true for this special little rescue dog.

we went over to Geoff & Bri's for an early lunch

Greyson got a geode kit, so there was much time spent

breaking them open and looking at them.

it was nice that it wasn't too cold and everyone could be outside for a while.

It was a nice day because it was so mellow.

TBT Christmas Memories...

found a couple of Christmas pictures from a few years ago

when there were only 3 Grands.

They were doing their annual tree decorating at the MH.

Memories, that's such a special part of the holiday season.

A Ball Of A Birthday...

Grey actually got to celebrate his birthday with a party on the actual day!

Last year he was sick and his party was cancelled.

Bri used some of thing decorations from last year.  They were perfect.

Instead of cupcakes or cake she had rice-krispie treats...

everyone got a beach ball to take home.

Greyson has some really great friends at school

 Geoff blew up a bunch of the balls for the kids to play with...

cousin Jack was the goalie in the boys made-up game

7 year old boys are pretty cute/funny

a rice kris pie cake was just perfect!

I know everyone had a ball at his party...

I sure did!

Cousin Birthday...

Yesterday was the "cousin birthday".  The final ones in June.

Lauren turned 12.

This girlie is a real "tweener".

She made it through her first year of middle school with straight A's.

Loves clothes, her friends and is a beautiful young lady inside and out.

Greyson turned 7 yesterday.

He had a great year in 1st grade.

Played baseball and was a true sportsman.

He loves to read and play with Legos.

We love talking to him and listening to him laugh.

not only do these two cousins share a birthday but they share a love of surfing

It's funny how these two are a like in so many ways,

that's what makes them so unique and special.

Lauren and Greyson we love you!

Last Day of School...

yesterday was the last day of school for the youngest and oldest grand.

Jack had already been out for a week and was in Minnesota.

He had a great year and is now in 4th grade.

Grey is now a 2nd grader.  He had a great year this last year

and we're so proud of him.

He's gotten so tall and turned into quite the little man.

I got to drive the last Ave. Mastil carpool of the year.

The kids were so excited.

Lauren made it through 6th grade at a new school.

Looks like she got straight A's.

She's become quite the "tweener"

and is really neat.

We're so very proud of these grands...

Let summer begin!

Recliner Racing...

Saturday we took Grey to see "How To Train Your Dragon 2".

It was just the 3 of us, Lauren was at a party, Jack was in Minnesota and Emme

was taking on a project at home.

Grey wanted to go to the theater "where they have the food".  Cinepolis in Laguna Niguel.

After we placed our lunch order, Poppa showed Grey how to have

a race in the reclining seats.

"one, two, three go...!"

I don't know which was funnier,

them doing it or Grey laughing hysterically because the leather

seats made a "tooting" sound as they moved.

They thought this was so funny.

What can I say?

Doesn't matter the age, boys just think that's a funny sound.

Sportsman Of The Year...

both grandsons played baseball this year and loved it.

Jack has played for a few years now.  This year when I went to his game he was catching

and gave me a heart-attack!  

Greyson played for the first time this year.  He really got into the game

and loved it more than anything.  In his league, the coach pitched to 

the boys, but the boys played in the field.  He was such a good player.

A week before the season ended his parents got a call that

he was going to be awarded a special award.

He was so proud when they called his name for "Sportsman of the Year".

All of the coaches voted for this, so it was a big deal.

His parents explained to him exactly what it meant.  So when he was 

showing me his trophy, he explained what it meant.

he got a pair of Oakley kids sunglasses that he was pretty proud of too.

Good job Grey, we're so proud of you.

Game # 1, Grandson #2...

I didn't leave CA until later in the day, so I got to go to both boys baseball

games.  Grey's was at 7:30 in the morning!

That was fine because it was much cooler and it only lasted for an hour and half.

this is Grey's first year playing baseball and he really likes it.

He's pretty serious about it and seems to know the basics of the game.

he played all different positions and told me he likes shortstop the best.

in this league, the little guys get about 10 pitches by the coach, the they can use the T.

a pretty cute little sister who runs around looking for bugs during brothers game.

so glad that he's enjoying baseball this year.

I'm proud of him because he really didn't know anyone else on his team, but has fit right in.

Go "A's"

Homework...

sometimes when I'm in CA with the grands, I get to monitor homework.

I was with Jack the other day.  Fractions.  Simplest form.  Models.

In A-9 we have the same math books that are used at Jack's and Grey's schools so

I'm used to the terms that are used.  No more "borrowing or carry or reducing".

Now when it comes to Lauren and her middle school math, I have to

look up on the internet how to check it.

Grey has an animal report due in a couple of weeks.  Funny, that's

what we've been working on in A-9.  So I can talk to him about

habitat, mammals, etc.

I'm glad that all of them are good students and that I'm still able

to talk to them about their school work.  And that I have some idea

what they're talking about when they ask questions.

Perplexus...

the Moysa's got this game for Christmas.

It's crazy, frustrating and fun all at the same time.

The object is to roll a silver ball around inside this plastic ball pass/through

all these different levels.

It get to about 15 and then it falls.  You have to turn it and move it at the 

same time.  I think it's really hard (but also addicting).

yesterday this guy made it to 100 and wanted me to take a picture.
