Kaamooloa Road Thanksgiving, 9th Edition...

 Thanksgiving 2014

started with the hubby doing his turkey with

his special, family recipe stuffing.

He decided this year to use the Japanese bread we use

everyday (won't be using it again, he said it was too stiff. Gotta stay

with the cheap stuff).

our next door neighbors, the Watanabes hosted

it again and as always it was spectacular.

This year was a little different because several families, the Adams

and the Cuas both moved away.

Christine's table is always so pretty and festive.

The autumn colored tulips were so pretty.

So Thankful for such wonderful friends and neighbors.

They're the reason this Thanksgiving was so nice.

Thankful Thursday...

I'm thankful for these 4 miracles...our legacy and our gifts.

There is nothing more wonderful than grandchildren.

Lauren who made us grandparents.

Jack our first grandson.

Greyson will carry on the name.

Emme the light that never goes out.

We love them dearly.

Thankful Thursday...

So thankful for this sweet little family.

The sacrifices that they've made in the last few years have only made them stronger.

Geoff & Bri are such good parents to Grey & Emme.

Geoff has learned that when things are hard, you just keep going forward.

We're so proud that he's been able to go through such "life-changing" events

and still provide for his little family

Bri is probably the most selfless person I know.  The gift she gave

her cousin & his wife is something that is indescribable and priceless.

we are so proud of both of them and love them immensely 

Thankful Thursday...

this has been a difficult year for her.

I'm thankful for the woman, mother, sister, friend and daughter that she is.

We know that she'll be fine.  She's already happier than she has been in a very long time.

for this and her, we're thankful.

Kaamooloa Rd Thanksgiving, 2013 Edition...

our day started with hubby doing his magic with the turkey

and his old family recipe for stuffing...

many years ago he found out that if he mixes it in a plastic bag, it's much 

easier than a big bowl.  For a 23 pound turkey, that's a lot of stuffing!

 our dear neighbors, Steve and Christine, once again hosted the dinner and

it was wonderful!

Christine goes out of her way with so many little touches that make it special.

I think there were about 35 people for dinner.

It's nice that it's a "sit down" meal

there was plenty of great food.

we were sitting around that night talking about 

Thanksgiving over the years here on Kaamooloa Rd. and all

the changes. We decided that this year may have been the best yet.  We probably say that every year! One thing for certain is that it's so nice to have such

wonderful friends and neighbors.

Kaamooloa Road Thanksgiving...

Our neighbors, Steve and Christine, once again hosted Thanksgiving

at their house. This was the seventh year they have hosted.  Like

our neighbor Billy said, "It's a Tradition"!

It was really nice to get together with everyone.

There are some dishes that people bring that are so good (those brussel sprouts)

and it's great to have them again.

The table was beautiful.

Thanksgiving~Hawaiian Style...

You can take your turkey to the imu at the high school and cook it there ( I heard it was full),

Thanksgiving was beautiful with warm water and off-shore trades blowing

We had our traditional Kaamooloa Road Thanksgiving Feast at the

Watanabes next door...30+ people

                                                 tables were decorated with the flowers

that I had made last week for church....majority of them came from

cuttings in our yard

Malia LOVED my cranberry sauce

no words can describe the goodness...

We're so thankful for another year of

"Hawaiian Style Thanksgiving."

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving~again...

Since our neighbors across the street, Ed and Laura were gone for Thanksgiving, Laura wanted

to cook a Thanksgiving feast for her family.

They invited hubby and I over, I had enough ingredients to make

creamed corn, cranberry sauce and fresh whipping cream for the pie.

It was so good!  Laura did a great job, she even did sweet

potatoes from scratch!

It was a great evening.  We were able to get through dinner and then a trade shower

passed through.

Really nice, thanks for the invite Cua Ohana!

(side note on this...as soon as we started eating, "she crazy" had to start.  More on this

later).

Kaamooloa Road Thanksgiving from start to finish~

Our Thanksgiving Day starts with hubby making his stuffing.  This has been in his family like

this for three generations that I know of...he tears cheap white bread into pieces,

 adds ALOT of sage...

 chopped onions (not too much) and Imperial margarine

that he mixes together with his hands.  He says it's so

he can get the "right fee".  Then he stuffs the bird.  Through

the years, the turkeys have been grown for more meat, so we also

do stuffing in pans and cook it that way.

 This is our next door neighbors house, Steve and Christine.  They've so gracious

to host it every year that we've lived here.  It really is nice.  Christine

does such a nice job on the decorations and place settings.

 this is only 1/2 the food and not any of the desserts!  My Gulliver's Creamed Corn and

a dish of stuffing are in the middle

 These were sooooo good! A marshmellow wrapped in cooked yam and rolled in

corn flakes and then baked!

A wonderul day ended with Steve's 88 year old dad

playing on a neighbors guitar.  He hadn't played or sang

in years.

 We're so thankful for such great neighbors who are like

family to us.
