New Years Day In A Christmas Wonderland...

Our friends, Dave and Iris, had a New Years Day
party at their house.   Dave & Iris are serious vintage Christmas
ornament collectors.  Walking into their house was like
walking into a wonderland of pure Christmas treasure.

I counted 6 decorated trees, each one of them different.
They have a perfect place to set up a HUGE tree covered in
nothing but Italian De Carlini ornamanets.

part of this scene was a full-size sleigh

There was a tree decorated in Hawaiian ornaments

This small tree were their newer De Carlini ornaments

There was an Asian tree

A tree that was so valuable that the topper couldn't be placed because it
may break

You can see some of the trees

there was a display of Santa tree toppers

A Disney tree

and of course...wonderful food (a lot)

I thought I had seen some serious Christmas decorations, but nothing as stunning
as this beautiful wonderland. I didn't talk enough pictures to even do it justice.

New Years Eve, 2012...

This year Billy & Molly decided to host New Year's Eve.
It was a beautiful night with everyone just sitting around talking
like it used to be.

Molly made a Thai meat dish that brought tears to my eyes because
it was so spicy, but oh so good.

as always, lots of food

Billy and Ed decided to wear ugly shirts...hard to decide the winner

We lasted until about 10 because we were still on CA time.
We woke up briefly at midnight, Paalakai folks were shooting off
rockets (so much for the fireworks ban)
Again, it was nice to spend time with such great friends and neighbors.
Thanks Garners!

Resolutions...

Another fresh new year is here . . .

Another year to live!

To banish worry, doubt, and fear,

To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me

To live each day with zest . . .

To daily grow and try to be

My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity

Once more to right some wrongs,

To pray for peace, to plant a tree,

And sing more joyful songs!”

William Arthur Ward

*I liked what I wrote last year and decided I may work on those again, even though there's been a few changes.
